  • Wooreuk Culture Festival

  • The Wooreuk Culture Festival has been held every October since 1971 to pay tribute to the great masters of music, Wooreuk, Kimsaeng, Sinlip, Gangsu, general and Gyeong-Eop Im, and to further promote local cultural arts. A splendid opening ceremony that includes fireworks and mass games paves the way for various events such as a Taekgyeon demonstration, the Gayageum Performance Contest, the Kimsaeng Exhibition, the Potato Flower
Children’s Poetry Contest, General Yun-Hu Kim’s Torch Festival, and the Myeon-Hyeon Memorial Service. The festival has evolved into a citizens’ sports festival, in which all Chungju citizens get together and unite.
