Geographical Location
Located in the middle and northeast of Korea, Chungju is bound by Jecheon in the east, Eumseong-gun in the west, Goesan-gun and Gyeongsangbuk-do in the south, and Gyeonggi-do and Gangwon-do in the north. Mt. Gyemyeong, Mt. Nam, Mt. Daerim, and Mt. Wolak are located southeast of the city, and there is a mountain basin west of the city. Since Namhangang, Dalcheongang, and Yodocheon pass through the city, Chungju has abundant water resources and easy water transport.

The latitude of the city is 37˚16’-36˚18’ north. With its temperate monsoon climate, it has four distinct seasons, with a marked difference between summer and winter. Therefore, its citizens can adapt to exotic climates such as cold and tropical climates. At 37˚16’-36˚18’ longitude east, the city is located in the middle of Korea. Pyeongtaek and Danyang are on the same latitudes, and Wonju and Jinju are on the same longitudes.
